THE ALL-NEW LEXUS RX

The design of the new RX is much more dynamic and confident. In the front the spindle grille is much better integrated into the face of the car, the headlights are sleeker. In the profile, the extended bonnet, longer wheelbase (by 6cm), lower roofline (by 1cm) and bigger, 21’’ wheels contribute to a dynamic and planted look of the car. Full-width taillights with integrated Lexus name and wider rear track (by 4cm) further confirm the stronger road presence of the new RX in the rear.   

The driver-centred ‘Tazuna’ cockpit ensures direct & intuitive control of the vehicle. It further improves driving experience and safety, with all controls and information sources being positioned at easy reach to minimise the driver’s eye and head movement.

The game-changing new RX 500h performance hybrid is the first-ever Lexus turbo-charged hybrid. With power delivered by a completely new hybrid architecture consisting of a 2.4-litre turbo engine and 6-speed automatic transmission, the RX 500h delivers 371 DIN hp and 645 Nm of torque for exhilarating acceleration and superb dynamic handling thanks to DIRECT4.

The front electric motor is positioned between the combustion engine and the transmission, and it has a clutch on both sides, enabling great flexibility in power delivery. The rear is equipped with an 80kW e-Axle: a compact, modular package consisting of a motor, gearing and an ECU located between the rear wheels.

Offered exclusively in Eastern Europe, the new RX 350 is powered by a 2.4-litre turbocharged unit - this develops 279 DIN hp (or 249 DIN hp in certain markets) and 430 Nm of torque which is substantially higher than that delivered by the current model.

The new RX delivers advanced connectivity and features a 14” touchscreen as standard, one of the largest in its class. Alongside the standard embedded navigation system, the new RX also provides cloud services as standard*. The car’s DCM (data communication module) offers always-on connectivity, including live information on traffic events, accidents and road conditions.

The new multimedia system includes the smart voice assistant ‘Hey Lexus’. Easy smartphone integration is provided as standard – wireless for Apple CarPlay and with a wired connection for Android Auto. A wireless charging tray is available, with 50% more powerful charging  performance.

The new RX provides ample space for all occupants and five luxury seats with excellent legroom. With increased couple distance, newly designed seats and more intelligent packaging, the RX feels roomier inside. Thanks to intelligent tailgate design, the luggage compartment is now 50 mm longer and loading height is 30mm lower for an easier access.

Accentuating RX’s sporty credentials, the F SPORT will be offered on the RX 500h performance hybrid and the RX 350 in Eastern Europe. The F SPORT features enhancements such as the execution of the front grille, skirts and the aerodynamic front and rear bumpers The shape of the F SPORT front seats’ ensures a better hold. They are available in Black & Dark Rose colour. Aluminium ornamentation further underlines the sporty character of the interior. In addition, the F SPORT grade gets a range of dynamic enhancements including more sporty tuning of the suspension, bigger brakes, etc.
